How a piece is made.

Lisa picks the flowers on her own walks and in her garden, then sets them in jars of silica, the grains in those little packets that keep things dry.

“It’s got to go in this silica stuff for several days to completely dry it out.”

Lisa Tomasian

Silica keeps the flowers three-dimensional instead of flat. Then she lays them out by hand and pours clear resin over them in layers. A flower frame usually takes three pours.
